Barbra Streisand Makes George Floyd’s 6-Year-Old Daughter A Disney Shareholder

Gianna Floyd is now a Disney shareholder, thanks to Barbra Streisand. The music icon sent this as a gift to George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter.

Gianna posted about this on her social media account. The post shows pictures of the little girl opening the special package sent to her.

“Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package,” the caption reads. “I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you.”

Streisand sent her an envelope of what appears to be a Disney stock certificate and a signed letter she addressed to Gianna. The package also included two of Streisand’s albums, “Color Me Barbra” and “My Name Is Barbra.”

While there is no information about how many shares were sent as a gift, shares in the company are known for its positive, long-term returns. For instance, 1,000 USD-worth of investment in 2010 is worth about 4,600 USD last February.

Streisand made no mention of these on her personal social media accounts, only messages sending support to the Black Lives Matter movement after the in-custody murder.

The singer posted about peaceful protests. “A beautiful moment of silence for George Floyd in Minneapolis yesterday. There’s such power in solidarity – and it can all be done non-violently,” she said. “What happened to George is a modern-day lynching.”

People around the country have reached out to Gianna and her family, intending to help ease the burden they are now facing. Recently, Texas Southern University in Houston offered her a full scholarship should she wish to attend when the time comes. She also received support from high profile celebrities: Kanye West opened a college savings plan for Gianna.
