But times have changed, and weddings now brim with personal touches that reflect the couple’s unique interests and values.

For many, this involves including beloved pets in the festivities. A survey revealed that nearly two-thirds of dog owners would want their furry friends at their weddings.

Whether as ring bearers, flower girls, or even best men, dogs are becoming integral to wedding ceremonies.

Bethany and Matthew, a couple from Florida, took this trend to a new level at their wedding at the Casa Marina Hotel on Jacksonville Beach.

Their five rescue beagles played a starring role in their special day.

According to Ilana Karcinski and Kelly Nova, co-founders of FairyTail Pet Care, “One of the bride’s biggest passions in life is rescuing animals from terrible circumstances.”

Two of their beagles, Harold and Loki, were saved from an animal experimentation lab in South Korea, while Charlie was rescued after a car accident in Miami.

Joining them were Harper and Leena, all part of the couple’s beagle family.

Though Hunter, their sixth beagle, passed away before the wedding, Bethany ensured he was still present in spirit.

“When the bride first got his diagnosis and realized he may not make it to the wedding, she put pet-safe ink on his paws and had him walk down their aisle runner so that he would still be included and ‘with them’ as they walked down the aisle,” shared FairyTail Pet Care.

Hunter’s memory was further honored with a signature cocktail named after him, and cocktail napkins inscribed with “Drinks on me! love, Hunter.”

The beagles were more than just guests; they were part of the ceremony and the official photos.

“All five of them walked down the aisle during the ceremony, and Harold (the eldest dog) stayed up with them for the duration of the ceremony then walked back down the aisle with them when it ended,” FairyTail Pet Care noted.

Custom beagle cookies and a wedding cake adorned with models of the five dogs added to the celebration.

Harold even stayed on for the couple’s first dance.

The dogs’ presence was a dream come true for Bethany. In a video shared by FairyTail Pet Care, she expressed her gratitude: “Thank you so much. I could truly just not have anything else, but having them here means the world to me.”

Indeed, this wedding was a testament to love, loyalty, and the joy of sharing such a special day with all members of the family—four-legged ones included.
