  • When Kaiden Shelton accidentally hit Isaiah Jarvis with a baseball in their game, Isaiah fell down.
  • Although it was not intentional, Kaiden was shaken that he hurt Isaiah.
  • Isaiah went to Kaiden and told him he was doing great and that he was okay.

For every ball pitched in the game of baseball, there is always a possibility that someone could get hit and get hurt.  Baseballs are almost as hard as rocks.  Couple it with the velocity, you surely would have a shiner or be momentarily stunned.  This is what happened in one Texas East Little League game.

Pitcher Kaiden Shelton threw the ball and accidentally hit Isaiah Jarvis.

Isaiah dropped down from the impact and took a moment before standing up and walking to first base.

Although Isaiah recovered from the painful incident, it was Kaiden who could not get over hitting a fellow player.   Isaiah knew that he had to reassure Kaiden.

In a video that has touched hearts all over the world, Isaiah can be seen walking towards Kaiden and giving him a hug and telling him that he’s doing great.

Isaiah said, “I wanted to go over there and spread God’s love and make sure that he’s OK. And make sure that he knows that I’m OK and that I’ll be OK.”

Isaiah’s gesture reminds us that we should always care for other people. He said, “Like if they’re down, you should just care for them, try to build them up.”

We see older players who these young boys look up to, focus solely on winning and forget to think about their competitors.  They sure could learn from the two boys’ actions and be reminded of how sportsmanship should be.
