Kai Plummer from Texas was in for a delightful surprise—or so he thought—when he spotted what seemed to be a cat lounging at the end of his hallway.

Known on TikTok as @definitely_kai_13, Kai caught sight of a mysterious shape that looked like a feline with pointy ears. Yet, he was puzzled because, as he put it, “I don’t have a cat.”

“I glanced down the hallway because I saw a light on that I forgot to turn off,” Kai shared.

“I saw it almost immediately and thought it was a cat.”

This wouldn’t be the first time an unexpected kitty has wandered into someone’s home.

Kai recalled hearing about similar incidents, like a man waking up to find a cat snuggled up to his feet.

With that in mind, he wondered if the so-called cat distribution system had finally targeted him.

Excited by the possibility, Kai grabbed his phone to record the encounter.

As he approached, the mysterious shape became clearer.

It turned out not to be a cat at all, but rather his shoes, positioned in a way that mimicked a feline loafing.

“I’m blind as h*ll yall,” Kai confessed in the video.

“When I realized it wasn’t [a cat], I had a good laugh at myself for realizing my own eyes had tricked me,” he said.

His video captured the imaginations of many, receiving over 25 million views on TikTok.
