  • Young fan Levi Still receives a surprise football from NFL star Pat Surtain.
  • Security initially confiscates the ball but later ensures its return.
  • Social media plays a pivotal role in reuniting Levi with his cherished memento.

A young Denver Broncos enthusiast named Levi Still experienced a rollercoaster of emotions during a recent game, culminating in a delightful twist.

Levi, despite his father’s Cincinnati Bengals allegiance, proudly supports the Broncos and idolizes player Patrick Surtain II.

For Christmas, Levi was thrilled to receive a Surtain II jersey and tickets to a Bengals game against the Broncos.

The game was a nail-biter, with Surtain II making a crucial play that delighted Levi, who sported his hero’s name on his back.

After the match, although the Broncos faced defeat, Levi’s spirits soared when Surtain approached and handed him a football.

“All of a sudden, we see Pat Surtain walking to us. We just freaked out and he ended up handing [Levi] the football,” shared Levi’s mom, Tracey Ewing.

However, their joy was short-lived. As they were about to leave, a security guard informed them that the ball couldn’t leave the stadium due to NFL regulations.

Determined to make things right for her son, Ewing turned to social media for help.

“The only thing I knew to do was go to social media and try to get my boy’s ball back,” she explained.

The story quickly gained traction, even catching the attention of Surtain himself, who tweeted his desire to help.

Yet, it was the actions of a compassionate security guard that resolved the situation. He reached out to Ewing, explaining the steps taken to verify Levi’s ownership of the football.

Ewing recounted, “He instant messaged me and just said he, you know, [sic] the steps that he had taken to get it verified and to make sure he could have it, and then he reached out.”

Levi expressed his relief and joy, saying, “I felt happy because I thought I was never going to get it back,” after retrieving the football from the stadium.
