  • From the extreme cold, Texas homes’ water pipes have burst and plumbers are hard to come by.
  • Mitchell’s Plumbing & Heating of New Jersey drove 22 hours to Texas to help overwhelmed plumbers and customers.
  • Since they have arrived, work has been nonstop and they decided to extend their stay to help more.

For Texans who had burst pipes and other damages due to the winter storms but could not get their hands on a plumber, help came from New Jersey.  Andrew Mitchell heard of overwhelmed local plumbers who could not help customers anymore.  So, he and his wife, son, and apprentice brother-in-law Isaiah Pinnock, came to the rescue and drove 22 hours to reach Texas.

Since Texas was also short of plumbing supplies, they filled up their truck with the needed tools before heading off to Texas.

Upon reaching Texas, they were immediately connected with several people through Pinnock’s sister who lives there. Mitchell’s Plumbing & Heating was in business.

Pinnock, who is a lawyer said, “By the time we got here there were already about four or five jobs lined up from my sister, and we just hit those first and then everything after that has really just been referrals from like the initial customers, like their friends and family.  She added, since they arrived, work has been nonstop.

Pinnock’s husband and brother have already done 13 jobs and there are still more scheduled.

Dedrick Dock of Spring Texas had a broken pipe in his home.  He and his family have been staying with relatives more than a week now.  He says it is because of social media that he learned about Mitchell’s Plumbing & Heating. He has already tried reaching 15 other plumbers to do the repairs on his home.

Dock said, “We had to relocate for over a week because we needed to get someone out there. And of course, with the plumbers here they were already overwhelmed with the work that was going on.”

Initially, Mitchell’s Plumbing & Heating planned on staying for just a week but with the amount of help needed in Texas, they are extending it to two weeks.

Pinnock said, “I think that we made a difference, for sure.”
