He is a pastor based in Florida who has made it his mission in life to help the needy. He makes sure he gives something for his neighbors to smile about and spreads hope to everyone.

Serving others is Bill’s happiness. In fact, he celebrated his recent birthday making the whole community happy by giving them special treats.

To surprise him on his 73rd birthday, his daughter rented an ice cream truck he could drive around for a day — something that Bill has always loved since he had tried driving one when he was 17 years old.

Bill was excited to drive it once again and since it’s his birthday, he decided to treat everyone ice cream for free!

“Out here they don’t get ice cream very often,” Bill told FOX 13. “We had people tell us it’s been a year and a half since they had any ice cream and little kids said that.”

Generosity is natural to Bill. He even founded the Florida Dream Center — a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping alleviate the lives of people from homelessness, poverty, hunger, addiction, and abuse. Every week, they donate 25,000 lbs. of food which is over 1.5 million lbs. per year.

“It’s beautiful, it’s great, it’s a blessing,” said Melvin Hillman, the truck driver. “I thank God I’m here to be a part of it. We have more people like him in the world it will definitely be a better world.”
