Shih Tzu’s Adorable Rescue from Virginia Air Vent Goes Viral

Quick Smiles:
- 17-year-old Shih Tzu, Maya, rescued from air vent in Virginia.
- Police and Fire Rescue Department work together to save the dog.
- Maya safely returned to her owner after the rescue.
In Virginia, a senior 17-year-old Shih Tzu named Maya found herself in a bit of a predicament. The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) reported that the little dog had gotten stuck in an HVAC air vent, and it was up to them and the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department (FCFRD) to save the day.
A video posted on Saturday captured the rescue effort, showing the crews from both departments working together to free Maya from the vent. They tried various methods to retrieve the pet, but ultimately had to drill open the basement roof to get her out.
Thankfully, the FCFRD shared an update stating that Maya was safely returned to her owner after the rescue. Although authorities didn’t specify how Maya ended up in the vent or how long she was in there, we’re just glad she’s back home safe and sound.
