When 10-year-old Leah James saw her brother Logan in distress while they were participating in a trampoline candy challenge, she immediately jumped into action.

She performed several abdominal thrusts, successfully dislodging the candy and helping her 7-year-old brother breathe again.

“I fell back. It went down my throat. It went in like the middle of my throat,” Logan recalled to Inside Edition.

The incredible rescue was shared by the Lavon Police Department, where their mom works. Chief Michael Jones commended Leah, saying her quick response showed true emergency readiness.

“She moves like she’s been doing this for years,” he said.

Leah’s mother shared her pride, describing her daughter as mature beyond her years and emphasizing the value of teaching children lifesaving skills.

“My only message to any other moms or dads or anyone responsible for a child out there is to not underestimate them because of their age,” Heather James shared.
