Bernese Mountain dogs thrive in cold weather.  One Berner has proven that this is so true since the snow has fallen in Massachusetts.  And Ivy is certainly not budging from the snowy white paradise she is on.

In a video posted on her TikTok account (ivytheberner), Ivy refuses to obey her Dad’s request for her to come in even when she has already been out there in the snow for 6 hours.

She even made her dad bring her dinner out there so she can stay and enjoy the cold.  After all, she can only experience the snow in the winter season.  She just stares at her dad.

But it is midnight and she has to be inside the warm confines of the house. 

Ivy then drops down, inviting her dad to play and even softly barks.  Clearly, she does not intend to go inside. Uh-oh.

Ivy’s delaying tactics has already garnered 14.1 million views on TikTok and so far, the latest update was that Ivy was batting at the storm door as if she was finally coming inside the house after midnight. 

But here’s a reminder for all dog owners. Berners and Alaskan Malamutes are equipped for cold temperatures but they still have to limit their exposure to freezing temperatures.  If your dog is not a Berner or an Alaskan Malamute, gear them up with socks, boots, hoodies and eyewear for their short walks. Emphasis on short.

As for Ivy, enjoy the snow but have mercy on Dad.
