Peter Mutabazi’s journey from a difficult childhood in Uganda to fostering dozens of children in the U.S. is truly inspiring. His commitment to offering love and stability shines through everything he does.

“Once you journey into foster care, it’s hard to go home and say life is going to be okay knowing there are so many children that are looking for a safe and loving home,” he told WXII.

He keeps his heart and home open, always willing to welcome more children whenever he can provide space and care.

“For me, I am willing to take in any child so long as I have an extra room or the county allows me to take extra, I will truly love to take as many as I can,” he added. “My job is to make sure children have a safe home, but also they can go back home, and if they cannot go back home, I want to be their final home.”

One of Peter’s most touching stories is his adoption of Tony, who was left at a hospital by his previous family at age 11. Peter stepped in, offering Tony a new home and a sense of belonging.

“My god this just makes me bawl my eyes out. So touching!! Amen, sir!!” a follower wrote in response to his story.

“Thank God for stories like yours Peter! We need to be reminded that there is still so much good in the world!” another person shared.

Peter believes in the power of community and sharing hope.

“I am an African and I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child. What you’re doing, sharing our story, that is part of our village,” Peter said.

Every day, Peter’s actions show the difference one person can make for children in need of care and kindness. Let his story inspire you to lend a helping hand or share a smile with someone who needs it!
