  • Quarantine was making Madelynn Pultz a bit bored, so she was whiling away the hours just watching her dog, Mystique.
  • It was then that she got an idea to bake a cake that would capture her pup’s adorable goofy face!
  • After four hours, she finished a Mystique cake that made her proud.

Being under quarantine has certainly made us tap into our creative juices. Madelynn Pultz has been using her free time baking. So as she was watching her dog Mystique, she got an idea to bake a cake that resembled her adorable goofy face.

Madelynn shared, “It was during quarantine that I made it because I was just so bored. I was in culinary in high school so I’m a decent baker but had never tried a cake like that.”

Madelynn decided to grab the opportunity to turn her idea into fruition and rushed into the kitchen.

Mystique stayed close since she hated being away from her mom for too long.

“If I’m sitting at the kitchen table she gets upset because she can’t fit on the chair with me,” Madelynn shared.

But Madelynn took about four hours to create the Mystique cake. Once in a while, she took a peek at the actual pup for inspiration.

“I did actually look at her to try and get the nose right,” she shared.

Finally, the cake was finished…

…and it turned out to be just as goofy-looking as Mystique! Madelynn proudly smiled over her work.

She said, “I think it turned out decent for me not putting a whole lot of effort into it and not actually having enough materials to decorate with. I posted it on Facebook at the time and everyone just thought it was hilarious.”

Madelynn was happy with her project, and Mystique was more than happy to have her mom back for some cuddling time.

The cake certainly brightened their day. It was a wonderful tribute to her beloved dog!

Madelynn shared, “My fiancé thought it was weird to eat it, but it did taste really good.”
