Bride Paralyzed as Teen Surprises Groom by Walking Down the Aisle [Video]

Chelsie Hill, 29, has been paralyzed from the waist down since 2010. She was involved in a car accident during her senior year in high school. The driver of the car was drunk.

That didn’t break Chelsie’s spirit. She became the CEO and founder of the Rollettes, a wheelchair dance team based in Los Angeles.

Chelsie has been in a relationship with Jay Bloomfield, 34, since 2014.

Last month, the couple’s wedding made news when Chelsie surprised Jay by walking down the aisle at the ceremony.

“I want to stress that there’s nothing wrong with sitting down in your chair,” Chelsie, an advocate for wheelchair users, said. “But for me growing up, I always imagined myself walking down the aisle.”

“And I just wanted to feel that — not that my disability has taken anything away from me — but I just wanted to feel that heart to heart and stand up there eye to eye with him,” she added. “That was just really something really important to me personally.”

With the use of leg braces and a walker, Chelsie’s dream became a reality.

Chelsie said she arranged it that Jay had his back turned to the aisle before she entered the ceremony.

When Jay turned around to see his bride walking with her father, he was shocked and couldn’t contain his emotions.

“As soon as I saw Jay, his jaw dropped,” Chelsie said. “He was just in shock that I was walking because he had no idea,” she added.

“After my accident, I wasn’t sure if I would ever find someone who truly loved all of me. You have accepted me fully, honored me, and adored all the parts of me,” Chelsie told Jay in her vows, as she shared on Instagram.

Chelsie’s surprises didn’t stop there.

She and her dad shocked guests with a dance number. Chelsie also had a number with other professional dancers.

Chelsie also used her leg braces during her first dance with Jay.
