Howl of a Dog animal rescue volunteers found a pack of abandoned and starving dogs along the streets of Romania.

It was one chilly December day, when they saw these poor animals, huddled on top of a pile of tiles to keep themselves as warm as possible.

One of them was Arnia, who was looking so emaciated, drained, and awfully starved.

The volunteers wasted no time, and rushed Arnia and the other dogs to their shelter and gave them first aid. Arnia was just 13 pounds — half of what a dog her size should weigh.

Arnia was well taken care of, provided with all the things she needs — food, water, warm bath, and especially medical treatment from a veterinarian.

According to the rescuers, Arnia was in such a heartbreaking condition: she was severely underweight, anemic, dehydrated, and suffering from muscle spasms and giardiasis.

As hopeless as her situation may be, the volunteers in the animal shelter did not falter in giving Arnia all the care and affection that any dog deserves. At first, though, she was scared and timid.

After weeks of proper care and treatment, Arnia managed to transform from being that sickly 13-pound pup to a happy, healthy dog!

“She has made a beautiful recovery, regaining not only her health, but also all the joy and happiness she missed,” Howl of a Dog shared. “She is approximately 2-3 years old, but has the spirit of a little puppy, jumping with joy, playing with pretty much everything, and crazily zooming around the yard.”

Arnia started to interact better with people, she became playful, and wagging her tail was just a favorite habit!
