This stolen dog and dad’s reunion will melt your heart [Video]

  • Aaron Morris quickly went inside Dollar General to dash inside, but when he went out, his car was stolen.
  • His wallet, cellphone, medication and dog named Jolene, all inside the car, were all gone, too!
  • With the help of the police and social media, Jolene was rescued wandering the street and reunited with her loving dad.

It was supposed to be just an errand day for Aaron Morris of Waynesville, North Carolina when the unthinkable happened.

After finishing up at a gas station, Aaron drove across the street to Dollar General to quickly dash inside. He left the car engine on so his dog, Jolene, would be comfortable with the air conditioning.

After the quick drop-by, the fur dad was shocked that his vehicle was gone as he stepped out of the store! His wallet, cellphone, medication, and most importantly his pup were all in the car, and he lost all of them in just a few minutes.

With the security footage at the gas station, Haywood County Sheriff’s Office identified that the suspect was checking out Aaron’s car there and followed him across the street to the dollar store. As soon as Aaron went inside, his car was taken away in a flash, along with everything in it.

The police shared about the theft on social media to ask for help.

Meanwhile, Aaron was having a difficult time coping with the incident. He struggles with mental health, and Jolene and his medication are essential parts of his treatment.

According to his sister, Ashley Adevai, Aaron couldn’t eat or sleep dealing with the thought that his pup was missing.

“It’s life and death for my brother, he’s talking not normal,” Ashley said. “I’m very worried about him if the dog does not come back.”

Her wish for her brother was granted, and a few days later, Jolene was found wandering by the side of the road in Morristown, Tennessee.

Jolene was then brought to Morristown Hamblen Humane Society, who tried to called the number on her tag. But the staff wasn’t able to contact Aaron as his cellphone was also stolen.

Things seemed to be going in Aaron’s favor when Humane Society’s Facebook post about the missing pup quickly spread on the internet. And in no time, it reached Aaron!

Aaron was overjoyed knowing that his pup was safe. He immediately went to the shelter to fetch his pup, and their reunion was the sweetest thing ever!

Jolene was as happy seeing her doting dad, and she couldn’t hide it with her tail wagging energetically, and her warm cuddles and kisses to Aaron.

The car robbery was such a horrible incident, but Jolene going back home to Aaron was enough to make him feel at peace.

Thanks for going back home, Jolene.
