Caught In The Act: Police Dog Steals Partner’s Front Seat [Video]

  • Shiloh the police dog is not allowed to sit in front of the police car.
  • His partner wants to know why his front seat is warm when he comes back from leaving Shiloh alone.
  • A camera captures Shiloh opening the door and hopping on the front seat.

A police dog sits in the back seat but sneaky Shiloh thinks his partner doesn’t know that he goes up front and steals his seat.  But the warmed-up front seat gives his secret away.

Shiloh is a K9 partner of David Ackerman and they have been working together at the explosive detection and patrol in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Shiloh loves his work and his partner and enjoys every moment that they go on patrol.

Ackerman said, “He is very serious and focused while patrolling, excited and determined when searching and a total goofball at home. He LOVES going to work!”

But one thing has been puzzling Ackerman. Every time he comes back from leaving Shiloh alone in the backseat, the car’s door is open and his seat is warm.

Ackerman said, “The latch on the door wasn’t working right and a couple of times I caught him in my seat.”

In order to solve the puzzle, he set up a camera to see what goes on when he leaves Shiloh.

And the camera just showed that as soon as he’s gone, Shiloh opens the doors and transfers to the front seat. But, when he heads back, Shiloh would go back to his seat at the back.

Shiloh thinks his partner does not know what’s going on but Ackerman is having a laugh about it.  He says he does not mind as Shiloh is the sweetest dog, works hard, and taking his seat is okay.  He earned it.

Ackerman adds, “We had so much fun with it, that after the latch was fixed, I still leave it open every once in a while so he can ‘sneak’ up front.”
