Outdoor Playground Built by Grandpa Keeps Cat Safe and Happy [Video]

• Bruce the cat loves to play in the outdoors at a farm.
• A transfer to a trailer park made his Dad build him a system of tunnels to allow him to still play outdoors.

For wanting to keep his almost 20-year-old cat Bruce safe but still enjoy the outdoors, Grandpa built him a fortress.

Grandpa and Bruce the cat used to live on a farm and Bruce’s life was spent enjoying the outdoors playing. When they transferred to a trailer park, his dad was worried that letting him out would expose him to danger and he might lose his way.  So he came up with an idea for Bruce to still enjoy the outdoors but still be safe at the same time. 

Jayli Wolf, Bruce’s dad’s granddaughter, said, “My grandpa came up with a solution. He built the cat a fortress. It runs all across the property that he rents. It goes right from the front, to the back and up the tree.” 

The system of tunnels goes around the property and even underground. This allows Bruce to go check on his dad when he is at work at his work shed, climb a tree, and explore the outdoors safely.

It has been a big hit for both Bruce and his dad.  Bruce explores the fortress every day and enjoys playing outside at the same time, be with his Dad.  His Dad on the other hand, is assured that he is safe and happy.

Wolf adds, “I couldn’t believe it when I saw what my grandpa had built. He has always been a character (he and my grandma raised me). He likes animals more than he likes people! He has always had a soft heart for his pets.” 

Wolf said, “Bruce uses his outside space every day. My grandpa goes out to his shop to watch TV, and work away in there. Bruce is always with my grandpa.”
