Dogs never cease to amaze us with their human-like actions and behaviors. One dog, in particular, has left both his owner and the internet in stitches after deciding on his own to call it a night and take himself off to bed after a “long and stressful” day.

The dog’s owner captured this hilarious moment in a video and shared it on TikTok, where it has been viewed more than 82,000 times since January 18. The video introduces us to Marv, a cane corso puppy with a no-nonsense approach to bedtime.

“Marv decided he was done for the night,” the video’s creator shared, showing the pup wandering up the stairs and off to his bed. The owner jokingly added, “I acted as if I was trying to reach him about his car’s extended warranty,” while chasing Marv up the stairs to find out what prompted his sudden departure.

The post, captioned “He really said goodnight girl, see you tomorrow!”, features Marv and his owner from New Jersey. The duo, who can be found on TikTok under the handle @marvthemush, have accumulated over 1,500 followers.

According to the Sleep Foundation, adult dogs typically need between eight and 13 hours of sleep per day, while research suggests that puppies sleep around 11 hours per day. The organization recommends setting up a sleep schedule for dogs to help them sleep better throughout the night.
