In the world of kittens, every day is a day of discovery and learning. One Scottish Fold kitten, in particular, might need to brush up on his snack-stealing skills after he was amusingly caught snoozing next to his intended loot.

The video, shared on @funny_finnigan, captures the moment the kitten falls asleep mid-heist, one paw still in the snack basket.

The kitten, Finn, can be seen sitting upright with one paw in the basket, evidently succumbing to sleep before successfully completing his tiny heist.

According to the 2022 State of U.S. Pet Obesity Report, approximately 60% of cats in the U.S. are considered overweight or obese.

Kelly Swanson, a professor in the Department of Animal Sciences and the interim director of the Division of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, told Newsweek, “When cats were given extra food, they quickly overate and gained weight.”

One commenter humorously suggested, “I think he’s acting asleep so he looks like he wasn’t doing anything bad.”

Another chimed in with, “Rookie mistake not catching all your Zzz’s before the big heist.”
