Quick Smiles:

  • Jessie Massoudi suffers a severe migraine and is comforted by her cat, Roscoe.
  • Roscoe uses buttons to communicate with Jessie, suggesting catnip for her headache.
  • Though Jessie takes human medicine, she appreciates Roscoe’s companionship and cleverness.

Migraines can be incredibly debilitating, and Jessie Massoudi knows this all too well. She suffers from pseudotumor cerebri and was recently struck by an intense episode at 5 a.m. Unable to do anything but sob on the couch, Jessie considered going to the emergency room.

Luckily, Jessie’s cat, Roscoe, noticed that his mom wasn’t feeling well. He decided to stay by her side, providing comfort and company. But Roscoe didn’t stop there – he even tried to prescribe catnip for Jessie’s migraine!

Roscoe communicated with Jessie using buttons, a popular device for pet owners. He pressed the button labeled “head,” and Jessie responded with a confirmation. Then, Roscoe pressed “head” again and added “catnip.” Initially, Jessie thought Roscoe wanted the catnip for himself, but when she offered it to him, he didn’t eat it.

Instead, Roscoe sniffed the catnip and returned to the buttons, pressing “head” and “catnip” again. Jessie finally realized that her clever cat was suggesting she use catnip for her headache.

She wrote, “I can be a bit slow sometimes, and didn’t realize that he was suggesting I have catnip to help my head. His companionship was the best medicine though, and cheered me up!”

While Jessie ultimately took human medicine for her migraine, Roscoe’s thoughtful actions and companionship were undeniably touching. Check out the video below to witness this amazing moment between a cat and his human mom.

He wanted to help me 🥺 I get migraines often because I have pseudotumor cerebri, but this one was bad enough that I considered going to the er. Roscoe was worried about me, and stayed with me the whole time. I can be a bit slow sometimes, and didn’t realize that he was suggesting I have catnip to help my head. His companionship was the best medicine though, and cheered me up! Apologies for my mumbling… migraines are the worst. #cat #catsoftiktok #fyp #fluentpet #theycantalk #fluentpetbuttons #hunger4words #catbuttons #talkingcat #aic #cattok
